The Future of a Flying Machine


Japanese automotive giant Toyota Motor in order to support the project of a flying vehicle, developed by the engineers of the startup Cartivator decided to finance the development. Ready-made full-size prototype investor expects to receive in 2019.
This development is positioned as the most compact flying device in the world (length – 2900 mm and width – 1300 mm). The machine is equipped with three wheels, four rotary engines with 8 twin propellers. The engines are located along the perimeter and can lift the car 10 meters above the ground and reach speeds of up to 100 km / h. The is understood, that equipment will be able to move along the roads, like a normal car, developing a speed of up to 150 km / h.
Cartivator plans to release the first experimental sample by the end of 2018, and in 2019 to conduct a test flight with a man at the helm. Toyota, as a mobile partner of the Tokyo Olympics 2020, counts with the help of a “flying car”  effectively to light an Olympic flame at the opening ceremony. Whether the automaker plans commercial production of a manned unit or it will be a one-off performance only for an indicative demonstration of the possibilities is not known.Future technology The Future of a Flying Machine
