Pumpack – Vacuum Suitcase Concept

Almost every time before I start my happy journey, I have to painfully struggle with my large quantity of clothes and other stuff by jamming them in my smart suitcase. Very practical concept and no wonder it has become a 2011 red dot design concept winner. So when I firstly saw the Pumpack, a vacuum-packed suitcase that includes a pump to compress clothes, I really couldn’t wait to imagine how easy packaging would be if I got this.

Efi Space Office Divider Concept

The design of this unique concept is a result of an important user study where the designer Mathieu Servais came to know about the common issues faced by the employees in open space offices. Efi’s system is made up of two elements : an online service where the employee will define his data filtering parameters and an adjustable space divider which works as a tangible interface with the online service.

Lowering down the ring enables them to isolate from physical noise (visual and phonic) but also from digital noise by filtering data receipt (e-mails, phone calls, instant messages). It consists of a connected space divider which enables office employees to isolate themselves when they need to focus.

Biological Concept of Future: Microbial Home by Philips

The Microbial Home project is part of the Philips Design Probes program, which explores far future lifestyle scenarios based on research in a wide range of areas. The Microbial Home Design Probe consists of a domestic ecosystem that challenges conventional design, it’s a proposal for an integrated cyclical ecosystem where each function’s output is another’s input.

The Bio-digester island, a kitchen island that consists of a methane “digester” which converts bathroom waste solids and vegetable trimmings into methane gas which is then used to power a series of functions in the home.

The Larder concept challenges our use of refrigeration and food storage and presents ways to keep “living food” fresh, by using natural processes.

Urban beehive, with perishing bee colonies threatening our food supply.

The Bio-light concept explores the use of bio-luminescent bacteria fed with methane and composted material.

A waste separating squatting toilet that filters effluent while channeling excreta to a methane digester in the Microbial Home system.

The Paternoster plastic waste up-cycler is a concept that uses mycelium to break down plastic packaging waste.

Apothecary concept for home-centered health monitoring and diagnosis, with the focus on early warning and prevention of disease.

Concept MATCHBOX – A dream for architects!

A work desk with symbolical name for architects and designers of all varieties. Our attempt to return to the Robotron/Reiss tables – a drawing by hand. Of course in this case, you will not need Rotring or black ink, only electric power and … comfortable chair (in the near future ). The desk features a touchscreen work area. This implies that you can actually work with only your fingers on this desk. This works like a desktop surface.

Camera captures touching of work area, information is displayed by projector. Panels mounted on the sides of the LCD touch-sensitive, which serves as the OS control panel. Wood, steel … micro-schemes, organic glass. This acts like an operating system control panel. The touchscreen work area is angled in such a way that it appears like an actual drafting table used by architects in their office. This interactive desk comprise of many other components, which renders beautiful looks as well as amazing functions.

Innovative LCD Induction Cooktop!

Blanco has designed induction cooktop in a metallic champagne colour in response to the demand of having flushed, integrated cooktops that will blend in with light coloured bench tops. LCD feature which includes 5 language features, programmable cooking of up to two different power settings and heating times per zone, a timer for each zone and independent cooktop lock. LCD display - Easy to use , to help navigate through cooking options. Time of day display and in-built minute minder. Select the program. The program will provide prompts to enter amount of water in saucespan. The cooking zone will automatically activate and boil the water. You will then be prompted to add the pasta and the cooking time. Cooktop will shutdown when time nominated cooking time has elapsed. If you like cooking a dish frequently, simply feed it in the menu. Next time you go to cook that dish, you call simply call up that program.

The start of cooking time can be programmed. The cooking zone will automatically activate and shut down at the programmed times. The Blanco LCD Induction Cooktop Cl804L is quite safe and user-friendly. It will help save energy and make cooking time effortless. The cooktop will not operate unless an induction compatible pan is placed on the cooking zone. As soon as the pan is removed, the zone is deactivated. spill temperature

WARP – concept urban landscape!

WARP is visualization for clean and green spaces that are self sustainable. With its ingeniousness, it will cake concrete areas with a green coating, which will comprise of both recreational and nutritional vegetation. Urbanization has depleted forest areas, which has further given birth to a lot of problems. This is a sad situation and needs to be changed now. Deforestation adds to the pollution level. The ozone layer is getting thinner and glaciers are melting, which is not a good sign at all. WARP providing shadow, humidity and an aesthetic sense will act as medium that will alter the shape of urban lands in a positive and greener manner. It will also produce micro-climes that will support the green regions on both public and private islands.

It is not easy to re-plan a city, as this will mean messing up with all the infrastructures like sewage systems, communication, electrical networks and sub-ways. Also, terrace gardens are not always a feasible option, for the condition of building needs to be analyzed before erecting one. The above conditions pose a great amount of difficulty in terms of planting trees for a better atmosphere. There is no land left, which will provide sol and viable conditions for trees to grow and spread their roots. Even if trees are planted, they will not attain a proper size, which can recover the atmosphere in an effective manner.

However, the artist has come up with small scale local systems, interconnected with vast networks, which don’t have an ill-effect on the ecosystem. WARP has been designed in a way that consists of system of stations that are further coupled with water, sewage, electricity and communication networks. Every station individually harnesses the solar energy, rain water and atmospheric air to ensure cleaner and greener urban ambiance. The energy stored is exploited for lighting and powering the electric grid. On the other, carbon dioxide and nitrogen dioxide act as a nutrient for algae, which produce by-products that cleanse the air and release humidity. Biodiesel is produced by using their (algae) oil, while Ethanol and livestock feed is generated from components that are left behind. WARP also collects water, which can either be used in close-by regions or directed towards a reservoir. The designer has beautifully blended the best from nature and human technology to achieve this project.

Take notes with Vivid Notes!

In a world which is ruled by technology, why should students be devoid of it. But all these gadgets have similar designing and functions as well. A Latvian designer Uldis Stipnieks is out with an idea dubbed Vivid Notes, which will help the whole writing and even drawing process in schools to be trouble-free.

Although the market is filled with multitouch tablets, but these fall flat on the face when it comes to having a feature that will easily take notes. Vivid Notes will kill this flaw as it will have a stylus which will help take notes, and it also comes embedded with a special notes app. It will be multi-touch and have an on-screen keyboard. The piece of equipment will be crafted out of translucent glass and will be clubbed with the color white for a serene appearance. Normally, the back of every product has an immovable logo that denotes the way a device should be held. Vivid Notes will have a logo that will always stay straight without any worries. Rotate the device in any direction and you will see the logo adjusted accordingly.

Concept Phone. According to User’s Emotions!

The concept phones that can change their shape based on the human emotion of the speaker. Considering that body language is a vital part of communication, these handsets are able to transform in order to express the mental state of the caller.

I guess that for some a videocall would fix the showing emotions part, but having a morphing phone in your hand sometimes seems like the answer. Most of the models were made out of ceramic materials .
