As promised, Xiaomi introduced its first gaming smartphone with top specs and a liquid cooling system. It is called Black Shark. In this case, Black Shark – also and the name of the new subdivision, which will be engaged in the creation of such devices.
It is not known when Xiaomi started developing the novelty, but the approach of the company is very different from the approach of Razer. If Razer Phone is primarily a smartphone, but with certain features useful for gamers (but not only), then one glance at Black Shark is enough to understand for whom it is created.
As you can see, the design of the device is unique and memorable. However, this affected the weight and dimensions. Dimensions of the device are 161.6 x 75.4 x 9.25 mm with a weight of 190 g. And this is with a 6-inch screen with Full HD + resolution.
By the way, the display here, like the Razer smartphone, supports a frame rate of 120 Hz. Also worth noting is the maximum brightness of 550 cd / m2. Perhaps the main distinguishing feature of the smartphone is a proprietary plug-in with controls. It allows you to close the display less with your hands. However, it is always possible to use separate controllers and do not close it at all. But such solutions are more cumbersome. The proprietary controller Xiaomi has its own battery, which should be enough for about 30 hours of play.
The smartphone received a dedicated Shark key, which activates a high-performance mode for games. However, it is not very clear why it is needed at all, given the performance of modern platforms. Moreover, there is also a special liquid cooling system, which should not only lower the SoC temperature, but also prevent throttling.
Still, there are some intelligent stereo speakers and no less intelligent, according to the manufacturer, X-Type antennas. But there are no special details on these issues.
The most boring is the parameters. Here everything is at the flagship level. In particular, the SoC Snapdragon 845, 6 or 8 GB of RAM, 64 or 128 GB of UFS 2.1 flash memory, a 4000 mAh battery, a 20-megapixel front camera and a main dual sensor with a resolution of 12 and 20 megapixels and aperture of F / 1.75 in both cases.
