The company TE Connectivity presented motorcycle during the conference RAPID. The main components, parts and the frame is printed by the method of bulk printing. This motorcycle is not a model, and a fully working model that can go and carry the driver and passenger.
The components of the assembled motorcycle designed by the use of specialized computer software. Printed from plastic ABS, which is the basis for the fairing for road motorcycle. As for its weight, it is 113.4 kg. To bring an unusual motorcycle in motion, the motor is used.
Length of motorcycle is 2 m, and the maximum speed of movement – 24 km / h. Motor power equivalent to 1 hp, and the plastic frame can withstand the weight load of 180 kg (driver and passenger).
The “unprinted” in the motorcycle – motor, belt drive, the some bolts, wiring and wiring of the details. Wheel bearings and the frame, and the major components are printed with through a commercial 3D-printer. By the way, 3D-model that is quite obvious, it is absolutely not competitive, but the motorcycle itself, despite weak performance, is thus the progenitor of an alternative approach to developing the personal transport.
