A consortium of European engineers develop a new model of robots. They are called Linda and are designed for nurses in Austrian nursing home . It is also planned to use them as guards offices. These cute big-eyed robots are designed in such a way, that is easy to maneuver in areas, where are people, and not confronted with them and not bumping into the interior.
By scanning the surrounding area , Linda will capture all the changes in the position of things and furniture in the room , allowing them to anticipate these changes and easier to navigate and move around in the room where they will work.
The venue of the first Test Linda, were selected the offices and homes for the elderly. Because,in these places the items interior rarely moved and the robots will be easier to study the situation . And yet, it is required for at least four months. During this time, the robots can not only remember, as the objects move in space , but also aware of the reasons for their displacement .
The developers of this project called STRANDS intend to share the results of their achievements with other scientists working in this direction, and it will surely help them to create more intelligent robots. It is curious!
