Good on you dubious man. If everyone had your attitude to new concepts like this then nothing would ever get done. You have to actually come up with a concept to present to the world so that people have the option to purchase in bulk - progressive councils and local government for example.

The carbon offset that a concept like this would generate would by far cover the negative cost of battery manufacture. Its really good that you have spent the time to properly come up with an intelligent argument for this.

And your genius suggestion for wave powered energy - really dude, you need to look into the cost of that one as well. There is probably a reason sun and wind power have taken a bit more of a hold?

Well done on the creator of this concept, I really hope someone takes it up and puts them all up on dubious mans street - just to annoy him.

I always get very nervous when someone tells me jargon like "cost effective" or "practical"...without clarifying or comparing it to existing technologies.
is cost effective to you "only quadruple the price!" or something like only 15% more?
If it is the first, then this technology is useless- a waste of resources that will not be made up by it's stored energy.
Usually, such things require backup power anyway, so you wouldn't save on power cables, and power generation is ALWAYS more effective in large amounts (economies of scale)
Would harvesting power from the sun-wind be nice?
sure
Is it green?
hardly. the effort of excavating all that lead in batteries alone makes far more pollution than conventional methods.

question: why is no one investing actually VIABLE sources of energy? (E.g. wave powered turbines)
