The project of creating a bridge crossing through one of the tributaries of the largest Asian river Yellow River was ordered to English designer and architect Margot Krasojevic the government officials from Mongolia (Ordos district). The world famous architect showed a creative approach in solving the task, and the Mongolian government was presented with the concept of a mobile folding, dragonfly-like floating bridge.
According to the idea of ??Krasoevich, the bridge can move along the river in a folded state and, as necessary, stop, unfold and install a bridge crossing where it is required due to traffic situation or climatic conditions. The architect offers both a towed bridge and a bridge, equipped with its own power unit, providing traffic.
Floating bridge is a platform on which are installed three designs of folding spans and a power plant that ensures the movement of the whole complex. Spans are equipped with a carbon fiber canopy to protect the bridge crossing from snow and rain. There is also the option of installing solar panels on the canopy to generate electricity for the powertrain of the bridge and lighting the bridge. Mooring at the site of the bridge is carried out in a traditional way using anchors. The cost of this project was not announced, nor is it known whether the Mongolian government will implement such a bold innovation project.
