“Boring Company” Ilona Mask is not just laying tunnels, but also a project for the electrification of transport, which provides that cars and small buses for underground transportation will be placed on special “electric sleds”. Technical information on the concept is still kept secret, but insiders report that the electric minibus borrowed some of the nodes and technologies used in the Tesla Model X electric crossover, and also has some autonomous control functions.
The minibus is intended for people who do not have personal transport. The new electric bus Mask is part of the transportation system project presented before in the company. Initially, the project of an underground tunnel was created for special platforms, whose task is to transport cars. The Boring Company unveiled the conceptual images of the new electric minivan.
The new project will work on the principle that a minibus fixed on a special platform with an electric drive is lowered to the ground, where it is installed on a monorail.
It is also clear that underground cars will be able to reach speeds of up to 125 miles per hour (200 km / h), which is not available in case of driving along ordinary city streets. According to Ilona Mask, the introduction of a similar transport system will make it possible to significantly relieve land-based motorways.
