Technologies are moving forward, and more companies are starting to work in new promising directions
Automakers are now trying to place in their products as many new technologies as possible. With each year, the titles of previously unused technologies are all becomes more. Such rates of development inspire confidence that the moment when cars begin to solve daily tasks independently, without intervention of motorists, is just around the corner. That is, they will become completely autonomous! Approaches to achieving the goal may be different.
In particular, Nissan announced the release of a car equipped with the technology “Brain-to-Vehicle” or B2V. The name already speaks for itself. It is translated as “Brain connected to the machine”.
The idea is to teach vehicles to interpret signals from the driver’s brain in order to better understand and sort out, how people actually interact with the car while driving.
The technology involves reading the driver’s thoughts. Electrodes will be connected to the person’s head, with the help of which the onboard computer can predict the actions. In particular, the device will be able to figure out, that man was going to, for example, to turn sharply or give on brakes. Once such a message is unraveled, the system will immediately give the command to the car and it will perform it very quickly. In critical situations this will be very useful, because a person can survive thanks to such a quick reaction. By itself, he can not execute the solution so quickly. In this situation, it turns out, that the machine will advance.
The automaker plans to demonstrate the technology on its electric concept car Nissan IMx.
According to Bloomberg, in this concept in virtual reality, the testers will be able to simulate the movement on the road for a short time, driving car with your thoughts and, if it works, the test sample will be able to make adjustments in real time. And it really sounds crazy. Insanely interesting!
This development is very interesting, but it is not yet sufficiently thought out. So far, this is only being presented at the exhibition.
