Nobody doubts that work on future cars continues, a lot of different technologies and alternative energy sources are being tested, but from the Japanese you always wait for something completely sophisticated run and want to say again “Well,Well, they are Japanese, they have even toilets talking.”
Toyota has prepared a lot of interesting for a home auto salon. Another one concept – Fine-Comfort Ride – is equipped with a power plant on hydrogen fuel cells, which is already realized in reality on the Mirai sedan. Details on the characteristics of Toyota has does not disclose, but smiling mysteriously, said that the range of the car is about 1,000 kilometers.
Toyota is carefully studying the technology of airless tires, which can reduce the weight of cars and increase their productivity, despite the fact that the idea is not yet ready for commercial use.
The concept car Fine-Comfort Ride is a crossover on hydrogen-propelled in which airless tires are combined with an engine in each wheel. These tires consist of a strip of rubber, covering the hub of aluminum and plastic, which should compensate for the weight of the engines. At present, the weight of the prototype of airless tires is about the same as that of traditional analogues, but Toyota is counting on the development of technologies that by 2025 will reduce the weight of each tire by 30% (5 kg). Although the Toyota Fine-Comfort Ride is a crossover, generally airless tires can be used on any electrified cars.
Concept holds six people, the seats of the first and second rows can rotate around its axis, which seems to hint at the presence of a high level of autonomy. Where do not look – everywhere the displays – the front panel – a huge touch screen, the touchscreen in the steering wheel and even on the side windows displays a variety of information, right up to the video.
Also known dimensions of the concept: length is 4 830 mm, width – 1 950 mm, height – 1 650 mm, and wheelbase – 3 450 mm.
Of course, most likely, Fine-Comfort Ride will remain a concept. However, its appearance only confirms the manufacturer’s desire for alternative sources of energy and vehicle autonomy. Now this is a new trend, that will not go to a dead end. Infrastructure will have to adjust.
