Although the first such robot performs a function of the vacuum cleaner, the company plans to create other types of devices. Sharp has developed a vacuum cleaning robot called Cocorobo, which uses the Cocoro Engine artificial intelligence capability. This product is the first in a planned series of robot appliances which can communicate with people. Cocorobo will greet you and make you feel just as if you have a pet around, but the only difference being it cleans and not barks. Apart from being controlled by a remote control or buttons, it can be instructed through voice commands as well which has been made possible by the presence of a speech recognition engine. ![]()
